A Semblance Of Summer

A Semblance Of Summer

A semblance of summer,
as seen through a window pane.

Warmth encodes the cryptic mind
by way of vague suggestion.

A thin patina of ice
distils new beginnings
into tight, lidded eyes.

A slow, enveloping,
atomic flush

bleaches white
all gathering thought.

  1. Brilliant! I had to laugh at this, though: “Warmth encodes the cryptic mind
by way of vague suggestion.” We’ve had horrible humidity here. Warmth is more than a “vague suggestion.” I could use a bit of cool air. But then I’ll complain in a few months once the snow starts! 😀

    • No doubt 🙂 When you look through a window when the sun is out in winter it always looks like a lovely day.
But when you go out you better wrap up!
