Echo

Echo

You lie

in the sunrise,

in a daughter's eyes,

from a beginning

a great expansion

evolving slowly

into echo.

    • Thank you. I don’t normally go into explaining poems, but I will say that this was written, with a couple of others, after the death of my father. My eldest daughter has his eyes. And I was also thinking of how this man, who was so large in life, taking up so much energy and connections, withdrew to create a vacuum. Becoming just a memory.
But I like your take too! That also is true.
We should interpret poetry for ourselves, and make of it what we should. 🙂
