How often the imagination compensates for the limited world view of the young.
Town borders; forest edges; the last stop before the motorway slip road. These are the limits of their everyday world.
But then they are elevated high, and their vision expands, the world opens up and they feel themselves diminishing.
Look there, on the horizon: it’s the future; it’s the unknown.
Go explore.
Beautiful words; beautiful children. Well done on all counts.

Did you see my review on Amazon, and Goodreads? I really enjoyed your poems, and will enjoy them many more times! Thank you so much!

I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I’ve just seen your review on Goodreads-thank you very much, I appreciate it. Didn’t see an Amazon one, maybe takes a while to appear.

Oh, found it, it’s on the American Amazon site. Could I push my luck and ask you to add it to the UK one? Please ๐

Thank you, Maria. They all help ๐ The Stockholm ones that you speak of: my manuscript was with the publisher, all finished and accepted. Then I went on a trip to Stockholm with a friend. Being the furthest north I’d ever been, I thought it an unmissable opportunity to come up with something for the collection, which my editor agreed with. So instead of finishing at Orkney, I managed with a last minute addition to make it to your fair country ๐

I can see that it was worth it! Stockholm has so much history. If only those old houses could talk!

Okay I’ll give it a go. Put my ear to the wall in a house in Gamla Stan. This is what I heard whispered:

Have they asked about playing Pokemon Go yet?

No not yet. Seems our family are the last to join in.

I was not going to play either. But my niece asked me to play, so I am. ๐

Look how bravely Millie leans on the glass. I would be a little more nervous, I think.
