I’m about eighty pages in and enjoying it. There’s the nostalgic thing-it’s based in 1982 England when I would have been coming up to my eleventh birthday. I remember things like the Falklands, Maggie Thatcher, of course, but also more personal things that probably wouldn’t have resonance in the US: playing the game British Bulldog which, just like in the book, was banned in my school 🙂 And also some of the words we used to use, calling people ‘Flid’ and other such colloquialisms of the time.
I searched for this on Amazon. What do you think of it? It sounds really good.
