I wrote this (with a forthcoming collection in mind, named ‘Fifty’ after hitting that milestone), some weeks before I began reading the book I spoke about in my last post. Coincidental connections 🙂
Every time I read the title of the poem though I can hear Ringo singing ‘Act Naturally’ 😂
Ringo, aging, Neanderthal DNA, and serendipity…a right great way to start off a Saturday. This poem even ‘reads’ casually.

I need to reflect on this poem, rather than desperately grab for whatever anti-aging the market offers. I love the refrain of trusting the process and aging casually.
